You're hiring more than just a wedding photographer
Hiya friends!!
Today we are sharing something a little different around here with a blog post on what to expect when you hire Hello Lovely for your wedding! It sounds obvious but you hired us to take all the pretty photos right? & we will, don’t you worry but also as a wedding photographer we spend most of the day with you (sometimes up to 10 hours) and often things will come up that aren’t under our ‘photographer’ job requirements but that we are happy to do.

-personal assistant
-snacks/emergency kit provider
-stylist
-professional dress floofer (yep, it’s a word now.)
-adventurer/does anything for the shot (within reason! lol)
-hype girl
It’s very important for us to make you feel as special as possible, it’s your wedding day and we want to do everything possible to make you feel amazing. It’s a fine balance of taking all the photos but also not interrupting the day as it flows and not getting in the way. Since every couple is so different these are things we chat about in consultations/engagement sessions and throughout the wedding planning process. Some couples want us to be more in their space and help with the poses. Other couples want us to be a fly on the wall and document the day as it comes. Either way we will do whatever we can to make your day easy and filled with happy vibes.
Here are a few real-life wedding examples of things or scenarios we have done or helped with.
Personal assistant- Like we said above we want your day to flow easily and often times we are holding things for you, grabbing water for your Mom-whatever it is we are happy to help out. Since it’s probably your first wedding day you might not remember to bring your room key to the ceremony or brush your teeth before putting your dress on, these are things we often remind couples of to help make their day smooth sailing.
Below you will see us taking leaves out of Maegan’s heels after walking around a leafy area for a first look. Also taking burrs off of a bridesmaids dress. We got you!
Snacks/emergency kit provider- Snacks can save your life. OKAY a little dramatic but have you ever forgotten to eat breakfast and then you were posing for a million photos and dinner is still 3 hours away? OH also it’s 35 degrees outside? Hopefully you haven’t been there, but we have had other couples who have and snacks kind of feel like gold in that moment. That’s why we pack a bunch to share!
Snacks/emergency kit provider- Other half of that sentence is emergency kit provider which comes in handy at every single wedding! If you are a bridesmaid reading this, these items below would be a great idea to pack for the wedding morning. Yup I carry two pairs of scissors because I find they are the most used item in my kit.
Stylist- Now this list item is not for every couple. But I would say MOST of our couples want flat lay style photographs to show off their wedding details including, invites, shoes, flowers, rings, and any other sentimental items that they are using the day of. If this doesn’t apply to you no worries it’s not for everyone, but if this is something you are interested in having on your wedding day talk to us about it. We need to plan time according and you need to plan that all the items you want to be photographed are available when we arrive. Flat lay photos can be as simple as you would like. Here are a couple of examples below:
Professional dress floofer- Exactly what it sounds like. We have floofed many a dresses in our years and you know we are kind of good at it now.
Adventurer/does anything for the shot (within reason)- I wrote within reason cause I’m not going to climb a building or put myself in danger BUT we will stand on a picnic table to get the right angle, adventure down by some water/get snowy or freeze to get a specific look whatever it is we aren’t afraid to get our shoes a little dirty. (Literally.)

Hype girl- We promise to do our best to make you both feel beautiful and happy cause it’s your damn wedding day! We love to be positive and silly and bring warm happy energy to your wedding day! You will usually see us smiling and saying how adorable you and your partner are and you will definitly see us trying to keep it together behind our camera during the speeches!
