So happy you are here. Today we are going to talk about how engagement sessions are the best! That’s right, they are the best for us and for you and your partner before you tie the knot.
Here are 4 reasons why engagement sessions are the best.
#1. Hangout time with your partner
We know wedding planning can be stressful in a lot of ways! We both have been there and know those feelings and those logistical nightmares that literally wake you up at 3am. Phew, they are scary but an engagement session isn’t! We describe it often as going for a walk with your partner and stopping for photos along the way. This can be a really good chance for you both to create memories, think about only each other, be silly and have a lot of fun together.
#2. Revisiting a sentimental location OR exploring a new one
One of the biggest questions we get are “where should we shoot our engagement session?”
To be frank it doesn’t matter where you choose. Since the shoot is all about you and your partner we will highlight that and the location is secondary. But on the flip side if you have a sentimental location in mind like a first date location, at home with your pets, family cottage or favourite walking trail then choose that because it keeps your session very unique to you both. Then in several years when you look back on these photos you will have such fond memories that really mean something to you. Moral of the story is don’t get hung up on location because we’ve got you either way. If you need suggestions just let us know!

I mean there is a reason you hired us right? Whether you plan to use these photos for your invites, or at the actual wedding or just to be displayed on your wall or fridge, they are going to be stellar! Here are some favourite engagement sessions moments.
#4. You get to work with your wedding day photographer
Hi, it’s Jamie! You have most likely already met me if we are shooting your wedding, whether that be on face time or in person over coffee. But a main reason why we stress that the engagement session is SO important is that it’s a stress-free time where we can meet/ work and get to know one another. On your wedding day, we could be capturing for up to 10 hours so it’s important that we all understand each other’s needs, and boundaries and get along. During the engagement session, we often ask questions to get to know your relationship and will give you prompts for great fun photos.
